Bring a small saucepan of water to boiling. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl combine dates, apricots and raisins. Pour boiling water over fruit; let soak 5 to 10 minutes.
Drain fruit, and transfer to a food processor. Add apple; pulse until coarsely chopped.
In a small bowl combine orange juice, wine, allspice, ginger and nutmeg; add to fruit in food processor. Add almonds; pulse several times until mixture resembles a coarse paste. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
